Real Pictures: Photographs from the Collection of Claudia Beck and Andrew Gruft simultaneouslycelebrates Beck and Gruft’s longstanding commitment to collecting photographs and a major acquisition of works from their collection by the Vancouver Art Gallery.

This catalogue includes beautiful colour reproductions of the vast collection that combines iconic images by artists whose importance in the history of photography is widely recognized with work by lesser-known but historically significant photographers who worked in Europe and Canada during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Also included are in-depth essays by curator Grant Arnold as well as local artist Roy Arden.
